
Dr Louise Blood was born in Sydney, studied zoology at the University of Sydney and later completed her doctorate at University College London.From 1969-1993 was a lecturer in medical histology in the Department of Anatomy, The University of Queensland,then for a time at Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University.She has over 30 years teaching and research experience in the medical sciences in Australia, U.K. and U.S.A. She is also an artist/illustrator whose work encompasses a diverse range .
Since 1983 she has had several solo exhibitions in Queensland and overseas.Commissions include works to promote the Biological Sciences, The University of Queensland. General and scientific illustrational work have appeared in English, Anatomy and Human Movement texts.
Her book "A Dance of Life"(1999)-Man with Nature in paintings and poetry -is a 'celebration of the cycle of life' and exemplifies a facet of Louise's creativity.
